Our Therapist

Casey Kotrba, MA, LPC, SCL

Casey Kotrba, MA, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health from Wayne State University. She brings professional experience in school counseling, intimate partner violence (IPV) advocacy, school safety, crisis management, threat assessment and violence prevention.

Her work focuses on helping individuals recognize and shift unhealthy patterns and cycles in their lives. These patterns can exist within a person, between partners, within families, or across larger systems, and often develop slowly and go unnoticed for years. Over time, they can begin to feel overwhelming—showing up in ways that range from chronic stress or difficulty meeting daily responsibilities to feeling stuck in controlling or abusive relationships, including financial control.

Sessions are trauma-informed and grounded in an integrative approach that draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. The work is highly collaborative and centers on creating a confidential, non-judgmental, and emotionally safe space. An authentic style brings warmth, appropriate humor, clarity, and unconditional positive regard into the therapeutic relationship.

Rather than telling clients what is “right” or “wrong,” she supports individuals in reflecting on their own experiences, values, and behaviors, empowering them to make informed and meaningful changes at their own pace.
