Casey Kotrba, MA, LPC, SCL
Casey Kotrba, MA, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor who earned her bachelor’s degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Michigan State University and her master’s degree in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health from Wayne State University. She began her career working with victims of domestic violence before serving as a school counselor at Oxford Community Schools. Casey later specialized in school safety, violence prevention, and behavior threat assessment.
It was during this work that she began to recognize consistent patterns of manipulation across a wide range of populations, including victims of domestic violence; teens being coerced, manipulated, or bullied online by peers or radical online organizations; victims of human trafficking; young men impacted by the addictive design of gaming reward systems and online betting platforms; and adults and seniors targeted through investment and romance scams. Regardless of context, these patterns often lead to similar outcomes, leaving individuals feeling isolated, insecure, hopeless, hypervigilant, and at times financially decimated.

Sessions with Casey are trauma-informed and grounded in an integrative approach that draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. The work is highly collaborative and centers on creating a confidential, non-judgmental, and emotionally safe space. An authentic style brings warmth, appropriate humor, clarity, and unconditional positive regard into the therapeutic relationship.
Rather than telling clients what is “right” or “wrong,” she supports individuals in reflecting on their own experiences, values, and behaviors, empowering them to make informed and meaningful changes at their own pace.
